The Langes Messer (Long Knife) was a one-handed sword favored by nobility and peasants alike. Later popular all of medieval Europe, it was portable, easy to manufacture, and deadly. Our Messer classes teach both the historical and competitive aspects of this sidearm including grappling, use with buckler, and dueling.

The saber has been a staple of many militaries across the world. The “basket hilt” broadsword just so happens to follow many of the same techniques as the saber. Taught from military sources, this weekly class is a perfect way to begin understanding the use of the saber and broadsword.

Learn a historical martial art that is over 400 years old and still taught by the same family that created it. The Doyle system of Irish stick fighting is a dynamic and effective martial art that teaches the way of using a shillelagh (Irish walking stick) as weapon. Our study group meets weekly to study the Doyle family’s system.
