CUSTOM WOODEN SCABBARDS

WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE A SCABBARD

  • Rust builds up and damages steel blades. A quality scabbard can keep your sword from being exposed to hot, humid air, sweat, and other elements that may cause corrosion. In between use or display, a scabbard can cut down the amount of time you spend cleaning dramatically.

  • A scabbard makes for a lower profile out in public when you are transporting your swords. It also protects the blade from being blemished or scratched by other objects and training gear. Keep your sword shining bright!

  • What should we know about the services you provide? Better descriptions result in more sales.

  • Sharp blades should always be covered when not being used or properly displayed. Having a sharp blade out in the open is a dangerous hazard to those around it. If your sharp does not have a scabbard, you should have one made as soon as possible.

  • Many antique blades do not come with scabbards, or they were lost to time. Project your precious artifacts with something that will keep the blade free of nicks and rust.

WHAT I DO

  • Most my work is geared towards sparring swords in HEMA. I can make scabbards for your sparring feder, arming sword, rapier, saber, or other HEMA sword.

  • My Scabbards are made from hardwood and lined with an absorbent felt on the inside. All edges are sanded smooth and I finish all my scabbards standard with an oil rub and clear coat.

  • I can paint your wooden scabbard in any color you would like, so long as you send me the details of what you’re looking for. I currently do not do custom painted images or finer work. I can paint your scabbard in solid colors for an additional cost.

  • If you have a sword that is not on my list, I can make a custom project for you so long as the sword can be shipped to me OR detailed measurements can be sent to me.

  • I pride myself on making sure my product meets your satisfaction. If for some reason my work does not meet what we discuss, I will revise and fix any work that needs to be done, free of charge.

  • I can make scabbards for all kind of tip-styles, ranging from sharp, flatulated, or rolled. Rolled tipped scabbards will be wider to accommodate for the larger tip.

MY PRICING

My pricing depends on how much time I must put in to make your scabbard. Standard swords that I have templates for will be cheaper while custom jobs with more uniquely-shaped blades will cost more. Contact me below to get an exact quote.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT MY WORK

  • “I had a new scabbard made by Ethan for my Krieger Armory longsword. Blown away by the time it took and the quality. My sparring sword is expensive so I wanted a way to keep it from rusting”
