Coming to Ludus Ferocia and Applied Defense Concepts June 13th and 14th is Master Blade Instructor Tim Anderson. He will be conducting a double feature workshop on combative sticks and kukri.
Influenced from his time over the last 32 years in Edged Weapons and Filipino weaponry, the combative stick workshop taking place on Saturday will focus heavily on the single stick as an offensive tool in defensive tactics. Double sticks will be used in order to gain the understanding of applying both hands when necessary.
During Sunday’s kukri workshop, you will learn the deadly art of kukri combat from a direct pupil of Col. Dwight McLemore. The Kukri was made infamous by the Nepalese Gurkha soldiers. Used both as a weapon and a tool, the uniquely-curved blade of the kukri makes a formidable chopper, slasher, and stabber. This seminar covers all the basics of using the kukri in combat.
Seminar Highlights:
Comprehensive Training: Master traditional footwork, parries, and attacks.
Hands-On Experience: Pair off with training partners to learn how attacks and counters are performed under pressure.
Sparring: Test and build on the skills learned in class by trying it out and seeing first-hand how it works.
Proven Pedigree: Developed by Tim Anderson, drawing upon techniques taught by Colonel Dwight McLemore of The School of Two Blades, Steve Huff.
